The dust laden flue gas of a large pulse dust collector passes through the filtering material, and the dust particles are filtered out. The filtering material mainly captures coarse-grained dust through inertial collision, while capturing fine-grained dust mainly relies on diffusion and screening. The dust layer of the filter material also has a certain filtering effect. The effectiveness of bag filter dust removal is related to various factors, but mainly depends on the filter material. The filter material of a bag filter is a fabric or felt woven from synthetic fibers, natural fibers, or glass fibers.

Sew the cloth or felt into cylindrical or flat filter bags as needed. Select filter media suitable for the application conditions based on the properties of the flue gas. Usually, when the flue gas temperature is below 120 ℃ and the filter material is required to have acid resistance and durability, polyester velvet cloth and polyester needle punched felt are often selected; When dealing with high-temperature flue gas (<250 ℃), graphitized glass fiber cloth is mainly used; In some special cases, carbon fiber filter media should be used. It is quite important to control the speed of flue gas passing through the filter material (known as filtration speed) during the operation of the bag filter. Generally, the filtration speed is 0.5-2m/min, and the equipment resistance loss is about 980-I470Pa.

When the dust containing gas enters the dust collector, the large and heavy dust particles settle down due to gravity and fall into the ash hopper. When the gas containing finer dust particles passes through the filter material, the dust is retained and the gas is purified.

The dust removal efficiency of general new filter media is not high enough. After using the filter material for a period of time, due to screening, collision, retention, diffusion, static electricity and other effects, a layer of dust accumulates on the surface of the filter bag, which is called the initial layer. During the subsequent movement process, the initial layer becomes the main filtering layer of the filter material. With the help of the initial layer, filter materials with larger mesh holes can also achieve higher filtration efficiency.
