Oil fume purifier refers to a device for treating oil fume exhaust gas. Oil fume purifiers are mainly used for the purification and treatment of low altitude oil fume emissions in kitchens; Used in hotels, restaurants, bars, canteens, as well as schools, offices, factories, and other places; Food frying, cooking and processing industry; Industrial settings such as oil splash heat treatment workshop, oil mist lubrication workshop, workpiece welding workshop, and olefin oil boiler emissions.

For oil fume purification, there are various techniques available in the market, including mechanical separation, catalytic combustion, activated carbon adsorption, fabric filtration, wet treatment, and electrostatic treatment.

1. Mechanical separation method

Separate oil fumes using the principles of inertial collision or cyclone separation.

Disadvantages: The baffle filter is prone to breakage and can be directly discharged as waste; Regular maintenance and upkeep are required; The vertical angle of installation should be less than 15 °; The purification efficiency is not high and is only suitable for situations where pre-treatment or purification efficiency requirements are low.

2. Catalyst combustion method

The principle of combustion purification method is to use the heat generated by high-temperature combustion for oxidation reaction, converting pollutants in oil fume exhaust gas into substances such as CO2 and H2O, thus achieving the purification purpose. During the combustion process, the oil fume exhaust gas is passed through a self purifying catalyst, and the catalytic reaction of the catalyst is beneficial for the conversion of pollutants. Ceramic or metal honeycomb carriers are generally used for oxidation catalysis. This type of oil fume purification equipment is only suitable for situations where the concentration of oil fume is very low, such as raw food or semi-finished products.

Disadvantage: The development of catalytic combustion purification equipment is not yet fully mature.

3. Activated carbon adsorption method

Use granular activated carbon or activated carbon fiber felt to adsorb pollutant particles in oil fume. The characteristics of this device are similar to filtration and purification equipment, but it has a better effect on removing odor molecules from oil fumes.

Main disadvantage: The cost of activated carbon is relatively high.

4. Fabric filtration method

The oil fume exhaust gas first passes through a certain number of metal grilles, where large particulate pollutants are intercepted; Then, after passing through filter materials such as fiber mats, the particles are removed due to diffusion and interception. The commonly used filter material is a polymer composite material with high oil absorption performance. This type of equipment has low investment, low operating costs, no secondary pollution, and convenient maintenance and management; But there are disadvantages such as high resistance, large footprint, and the need to frequently replace filter media. The purification efficiency is generally between 80-90%.

Disadvantages: Due to the high resistance of the filter material, such as the pressure drop of a glass fiber filter material purifier reaching 1500Pa, and the need for frequent replacement of the filter material, the application of filtration purification equipment is limited.
